Laboratoire Pollution Atmosphérique

Welcome on the Air Pollution Laboratory's website
INRA - Nancy

The Air Pollution Laboratory was setup in 1985 at INRA's forestry research campus near Nancy (North East of France).

The research activity of this laboratory is centred around the pysiological impact of air pollutants on plants, and particularly on forests (industrial and urban pollutions). This activity is both fundamental and applied.

From 1985 to 1991, fundamental research was principally centred around the problem of forest decline, notably acid rains, ozone levels and drought. Since 1991, the researchers concentrating on the impact of global climatic changes on trees with help of opentop chambers installed in different experimental stations : effects of the increase of CO2, ozone and UV-B.

Since 2001 only the researches on impact of UV-B on trees are continued
