Laboratoire Pollution Atmosphérique

Actualy the fundamental researches of the laboratory are only on the development of original method in the study of air pollution : the bio-indication by plants.

These methods use the capacities of some plants to :

• react fastly and obviously to pollutants,
• stock in big quantity pollutants which are present in air.

These methods,complementarily to the physico-chemical methods, have a big advantage to be simple et cheap, and to give fastly some informations on the quality of air. It permits to detect some pollutants, but also to determine levels of a given pollutants. In more, it appears particularly adapted to countries in development enough very concerned by some problems of pollution by :

• simplicity because there no necessity of big technicality,
• low cost in permitting lot of points of measure on big areas,
• no need of energy as electricity,
• a pedagogic side by a visible aspect which permit to appreciate the problems linked to the pollution and quality of air.
